Winning the school district's top teaching honor caught Teresa Fletcher off guard Tuesday night.

“This is a surprise because every day I work with the most wonderful people in the world, and I see all of my friends out there from all of the other schools,” she said. “I can’t tell you how much I appreciate this. This is wonderful. Thank you so much.”

Fletcher has taught first grade for 18 years. She started at Mustang Elementary and moved to Centennial in August 2007 when the school opened.
