ELECTRICITY OUTAGE HITS EAST SIDE OF CITY
MUSTANG NEWS STAFF
Edition:Monday, February 01, 2010

Electricity was out at a number of Mustang homes and businesses Monday afternoon.
Wal-mart and several retailers closed up shop until power could be restored. Mustang Police Department was switched to its backup generator.
Jack Ferrell with Oklahoma Electric Co-Operative said the situation did not stem from damaged power lines in the Mustang area, but the company was repairing a problem to transmit electricity to the Sara Road and SW 89th Street sub-station.
He said the problem lies with Western Farmers Electric Co-Operative, which is OEC's electricity provider, and workers are trying to remedy the situation. He said he was unsure when the electricity would be back online.
